PERMISSION TO TRAIN
If you are Trying Out for the Pakenham Warriors and are currently registered with another Association you must complete and submit a signed Permission to Train form. You must provide this signed form prior to Tryouts. No exceptions will be permitted.
Please find the following information on becoming a Pakenham Warrior and the tryout times and dates for each age group
The following age groups apply.
Under 12 – 2007 top age or 2008/9 bottom age
Under 14 – 2005 top age or 2006 bottom age
Under 16 – 2003 top age or 2004 bottom age
Under 18 – 2001 top age or 2002 bottom age
Under 20 – 1999 top age or 2000 bottom age
TRYOUT TIMES & DATES
Tryouts are held at Cardinia LiFE, 4 Olympic Way, Pakenham.
Tryouts for players with a birth year between 2009 – 2005 (Under 12’s & Under 14’s) will be held at the times listed below.
- Sunday 1st Oct 2017 8:30am – 10:00am
- Friday 6th Oct 2017 6:30pm – 8:00pm
- Sunday 8th Oct 2017 8:30am – 10:00am
- Sunday 15th Oct 2017 8:30am – 10:00am
Tryouts for players with a birth year between 2001 – 2004 (Under 16’s & Under 18’s) will be held at the times listed below.
- Sunday 1st Oct 2017 10:00am – 11:30am
- Sunday 8th Oct 2017 10:00am – 11:30am
- Friday 13th Oct 2017 6:30pm – 8:00pm
- Sunday 15th Oct 2017 10:00am – 11:30am
Tryouts for players with a birth year between 1999 – 2000 (Under 20’s) will be held at the times listed below.
- Sunday 22nd Oct 2017 10:00am – 11:30am
- Sunday 29th Oct 2017 10:00am – 11:30am
It is your responsibility to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your session to check in and receive your player number.
Please note that players who attend Try Outs are not guaranteed a position on a team. Families should be prepared for this prior to attending Try Outs. Final team selections will be announced online following tryouts.
WHAT TO WEAR
Players will need to wear a reversible training singlet or bring a light and dark coloured singlet/t-shirt. Players will also need to bring a water bottle and appropriately sized basketball.
If your child is offered a position on a 2018 Warriors team you will be required to register and pay your fees online in full or via instalments within 2 weeks of teams being announced. Actual dates and details will be provided following Try Outs. Players will not be confirmed on a team until payment has been made. If payment is not made within the required time frame, the Club reserves the right to offer the position to another player.

Fee’s for the 2017/18 season are as follows:
1st* child: $495 in ONE instalment OR TWO instalments of x $258.50 each
2nd* child: $440 in ONE instalment OR TWO instalments of x $231 each
3rd* and subsequent children: $385 each in ONE instalment OR TWO instalments of x $203.50 each
Included in this cost is: –
- VJBL Team Entry Fee for the season.
- Entry to the compulsory Australia Day tournament (runs from Friday to Monday of the long weekend)
- $100 rebate for any team to enter one additional tournament throughout the season.
- Coaches’ entry on game night.
- Court Hire for training
- Fund-raiser levy

In addition to the above fees, players are required to pay a weekly game fee. Your Team Manager may request this in advance. Spectators and players are also required to pay an entry fee at the venue.
Under no circumstances will a player be offered a refund except for:
Should a player have a season ending injury, backed up by doctors’ written proof, a player may be eligible for a part refund of their season fee up until the halfway point of the season. In this case you are to notify the appropriate committee coordinator to discuss.
If a player is cut from the team up until the end of grading phase 1, a part refund of fees to that date may be applicable. Please contact the Committee Coordinator to discuss. NOTE: Bad behaviour that leads to discipline or dismissal will not be considered as a reason for refund eligibility.
Likewise if a player comes into a team under any special circumstances, a part fee payment may be applicable. Contact the committee VJBL coordinator to discuss.
The basic uniform cost is $132.00 (inc gst) and includes a
- Home playing singlet
- Away playing singlet
- and socks

There is a range of optional additional items which are also available for you to purchase, such as Warrior Hoodies, Warrior Bags, Warm Up Tops (with players name/nickname on them) etc.
Samples of all Uniform items (and other merchandise), in a range of sizes, will be set up for you to come and try on (on a date to be advised). Each team will have an allotted time slot for this to occur.
All Warriors players are required to attend compulsory Sunday training sessions. The times of these training sessions are set by the Club. Some teams may also have a 2nd, midweek training session. Players are expected to commit to these training times and we do not work around individual’s other commitments including other sports, in scheduling training.
