The Pakenham and District Basketball Association Inc. (PDBA) would like to inform you that both Directors of Coaching are stepping down at the end of the 2017/18 season.
Both advised us that they wish to improve and progress their own skills and knowledge within the fantastic sport of basketball, but will still be involved here at the Pakenham Warriors.
I would like to thank both Brent Russel and Brett Small.
Who over the last couple of years. With hard work and dedication to building the basketball program we now have, it has changed the club in a multitude of ways.
Their knowledge, experience and passion for the game, with the ability to impart that. They have changed the way the junior and senior representative program has developed at the Warriors.
From getting another VC team in VJBL, and recently into the Nationals. To 6 VC teams and growing, to having our BigV Men’s in the Grand Final last year.
This is some of the clubs best ever results, which is only because of Brent and Brett.
I have seen both Brent and Brett give more than what is within the normal job description of a Director of Coaching. I myself have learned many things (over many many hours) how coaches look and read the game the way these guys do. We are grateful that they could impart some of that into our players and coaches.
Both Brent and Brett are still coaching for the Warrior’s, and are heavily involved in other club activities.
Stay tuned for their next endeavours within the Pakenham Warriors, as I am sure they will continue to better the club.
Please thank both Brent and Brent for all their contribution, and continued contribution to the Pakenham Warriors. This is not a goodbye, but just a change in direction.
Alan Lee
