COVID-19 update

As circumstances continue to evolve regarding COVID-19 (otherwise known as “Coronavirus”), we wanted to keep you updated on what we’re doing to protect the health and safety of our members.

We are in continual contact with Basketball Victoria who are also in close consultation with the Victorian Government, VicSport and Basketball Australia, amongst other key stakeholders, and are tightly monitoring the public health situation and any possible impacts regarding COVID-19. As of today, there are no recommendations to cancel public sporting events and we continue to monitor this closely.

We ask that you continue to follow the precautionary measures offered by the government and/or medical advice, such as:

  • Complete a health self-assessment prior to attending training and/or your scheduled game
  • If you have traveled in the last 30 days to a country of concern, or visited the international airport in the last 30 days consider a 14-day self-quarantine
  • Maintain high levels of personal hygiene including washing your hands regularly and using hand sanitiser

We therefore confirm that there is no change to the scheduling of Big V Round 1, commencing this weekend and no change to the scheduling and fixturing of VJBL games with rounds to proceed as normal.
